Although many people may find this invasive, I would personally rather ensure my safety and the safety of the people around me with thorough searches. With the weapons, drugs, etc that are brought into out detention facilities, it is my opinion that we can't do enough to ensure contraband is left out of these institutions. In a way, I try to put myself in the shoes of the person being detained and having to undergo a strip search. If I have nothing to hide, then I should be willing to submit to this sort of search. It is similar to going through an airport and being detained and searched by the TSA. I am willing to give up a few rights to ensure the safety of myself and others.Erik Hankshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00131576174626550460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7959803343678816550.post-46128285110184272522012-04-16T09:30:30.633-07:002012-04-16T09:30:30.633-07:00This makes me nervous yet again about where this c...This makes me nervous yet again about where this country is going. More and more of our rights are being taken away and the government could care less about it. There was a post earlier in the semester about drones being used to "help with police" (i.e. spy on people). The above post along with the earlier post are just two ways that this government is slowly moving towards socialism and the famed George Orwell society that he depicted. Being strip searched for minor offenses is absurd and completely illegal in my opinion, no matter what the law says.Alan Siskahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08548748763873857880noreply@blogger.com
